Our Society

The Diocesan Social Work Society , Lucknow (DSWS), a registered non-profit making charitable organization registered under Societies Registration Act XXI, 1860 No.855/91-92 Since its existence from 1989, DSWS has been engaged in the process of empowering the poor , socially excluded , marginalized and attempts have been made to incarnate the social justice , peace and fullness of life to all in the socially excluded population to liberate themselves and come to the mainstreams of the society. To archive this DSWS adopts various measures to work as an effective agent of social change. We consider this mission as our preaching of God’s Kingdom of justice, Peace and equality.

Our Mission & Vision

We visualize a society based on Gospel values such as Justice, peace, equality and fullness of life for all.
To empower the marginalized sections of society, especially the women, dalits. Children and neglected in the Society , by raising their social , economical, politically , moral , spiritual and health status.

Governing Body

The Governing body consists of the Patron, President, Secretary and 8 members elected from the General Body. The period of their term is for three years. It meets at least once in a year and decides upon various programmes and projects proposed by the working core team consisting of the Director and staff members. Bishop. Albert D’Souza is the patron of DSWS.
